FDA/ONC/FCC Request for Comments on a regulatory framework and strategy for HIT

Health softwware/apps/... is a subset of the issues discussed here.
SAMHSA.gov is part of US Health and Human Services ...  So fyi, ...  "

Mobile health applications (“apps”) for mental health and substance
abuse prevention, treatment, and recovery are rapidly proliferating.
SAMHSA is working to ensure that the needs of the behavioral health
community are considered as policies are developed for regulating
these and other medical apps. Currently, the Food and Drug
Administration (FDA), Office of the National Coordinator for Health
Information Technology (ONC), and Federal Communication Commission
(FCC) are seeking public comment on the elements they should consider
as they develop a proposed strategy for a risk-based regulatory
framework for health IT, including mHealth applications, that promotes
innovation, protects patient safety, and avoids regulatory
duplication.

In order to ensure that the needs of the behavioral health community
are considered we encourage you to comment on this important matter.
Comments will be accepted through August 31, 2013 at
